太陽の光が降り注ぐ中、2日目のトレーニングが10時30分から始まりました。気温は25度を越し、トレーニングをする選手の額から汗が滴り落ちていました。前日のトレーニングとは変わり、フィジカルトレーニングも取り入れ負荷の高い練習に取り組んでいました。一部戦術的なトレーニングなどもあり、質の高い練習となりました。

トレーニング後に、古橋選手、宮選手、安井選手は咲花コーチに着いて、LAのビーチに行き、砂浜を走るトレーニングをしたそうです。咲花コーチ曰く、「インスタ映えする」とのことで、各選手のSNSにご期待ください。

また、本日はメディアを招いてのプレスカンファレンスが行われました。フアンマ監督に、イニエスタ選手、ポドルスキ選手、ビジャ選手、山口選手と錚々たる顔ぶれの揃った会見でした。アメリカのESPNやAP通信など大手メディアや、ロサンゼルスの日本人向けメディアの羅府新報など多くのメディアが駆けつけました。

フアンマ監督が、このツアーの狙いを聞かれ、「とても重要なプレシーズンになるし、MLSのチームと試合ができるのは貴重な体験」と語っていました。英語やスペイン語、日本語の飛び交う会見となりましたが、スペイン語で質問されたビジャ選手が、自らスペイン語と英語で回答するという普段見られないシーンもありました。会見の様子は後ほど配信されるレポートをご覧ください。

明日はUSAツアー初めての一般公開になります。10時30分からオレンジカウンティ・グレートパークです。

The second day of the USA tour began at 10:30 in the morning with the sun shining down. With temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius, it was enough for the players to break a sweat. With an increased workload on the second day, the players were pushed with both physical and tactical training.

The trio of Kyogo Furuhashi, Daiki Miya, and Takuya Yasui joined physical training coach Masaya Sakihana after training to go for a run on the beach. Coach Sakihana mentioned the scenery was “ripe for Instagram” upon his return.

A press conference was held in the afternoon with the head coach Juan Manuel Lillo joined by players Hotaru Yamaguchi, Lukas Podolski, David Villa, and Andres Iniesta. With media attention from organizations like ESPN and the Associated Press, head coach Lillo revealed that “it is an important preseason for us and surely it will be a great experience to play against MLS teams.” With questions and answers in English, Japanese, and Spanish, David Villa showed that he could already answer in two of the three languages.

Day 3 will mark the first day with an open training session to the public. Training at the Orange County Great Park will begin at 10:30.
