昨日のロサンゼルスFC戦の敗戦から一夜あけ、午後からのトレーニングでした。素晴らしいスタジアム、熱狂的なサポーターのいたロサンゼルスFCは難敵でした。山口選手は試合を振り返り、「この段階で強い相手とできたことは良い経験となった、この環境でないと出来ない」と話していました。選手それぞれが悔しい思いを胸に刻んだ一戦でした。

2019年の初ゴールを決めた初瀬選手は、ゴールを振り返り、「何としてもアピールしたかった。思い通り蹴ることができた。次も同じ場面が来たら狙いたい」と語り、FKのキッカー争いに名乗りをあげていました。

練習は試合明けということもあり、軽めのメニュー。ストレッチ、ボール回しを全員で行い、メンバーを分けて、ポゼッションゲーム、シュート練習をおこないました。本日は、楽天トラベルのツアーで日本からお客様がたくさん練習場に詰めかけ、選手との交流を楽しみました。

夜は場所を移し、ディナーショーの開催でした。第一部はポドルスキ選手、イニエスタ選手、ビジャ選手が参加し、わざわざ日本から来てくれたサポーターに感謝と今シーズンの活躍を誓いました。イニエスタ選手は、男の子の「どうやったらプロ選手になれますか」の質問に、「サッカー選手になる夢を持ち続け、1日1日最大限の努力をし、それをずっと積み重ねること」と真摯に回答していました。第二部では、三浦スポーツダイレクター、山口選手、西選手が参加し、非常に豪華なディナーショーとなりました。中には、質問ができたことで、目を潤ませるサポーターの方もいらっしゃいました。

明日は、トロントFC戦になります。選手は中2日で試合を戦います。タフな戦いが続きますが、勝利が欲しいところ。ぜひ、応援ください。

A day removed from the match against LAFC, the impression made by the hometown club was a lasting one. With fantastic support, a brilliant stadium, and strong play on the field, midfielder Hotaru Yamaguchi could only look back at what for him was a positive experience. “It was good for us to face a good team at this stage of our preparation. It is something we can only experience here,” said Yamaguchi.

Scoring the club’s first goal of 2019 was winter signing Ryo Hatsuse. “I wanted to make an impression at all costs. I was able to strike the ball cleanly. If a similar situation arises, I would like to take it again,” said Hatsuse, instantly putting his name in the mix of set piece specialists.

As a means of regeneration, the training session of the day was a lighter load. Some stretching, moving the ball around in a possession exercise, and some striking on goal to end the day. It was a special day for participants of the Rakuten Travel experience, who were able to watch their favorite players train up close.

In the evening a dinner show was organized for such lucky fans. The trio of Lukas Podolski, David Villa, and Andres Iniesta were first to entertain the eager crowd. To a boy’s question as to how to become a professional football player, Iniesta replied: “You have to believe in your dream and work hard each and every day.” Then a second group consisting of Yamaguchi, Daigo Nishi, and Sport Director Atsuhiro Miura arrived to entertain the guests. In the end, it was a memorable experience for all participants.

Vissel Kobe will face MLS side Toronto FC tomorrow. It is a tough schedule with a match every two days, but the support of the fans is always appreciated.
